The Saturnia Film Festival program , organized by the cultural association ARADIA PRODUCTIONS under the presidency of Antonella Santarelli and the artistic direction of director Alessandro Grande, is enriched with important new features. It will take place from July 31 to August 4, 2024.
Now in its seventh edition, this year too the Saturnia Film Festival will offer five itinerant days among the most beautiful villages of the Maremma, with screenings of films from the two competitions and meetings with some of the protagonists of our cinema.
In addition to the first names already announced, Barbara Ronchi , Piero Messina, Bruno Falanga and Carlotta Gamba , the 2024 edition schedule is enriched with other guests.
Lodo Guenzi , singer of Lo Stato Sociale and actor, will receive the Saturnia Film Festival 2024 Award for his ever-growing career in the world of cinema: after his brilliant debut in Est by Antonio Pisu up to the role of Marzio Barreca in the latest film by maestro Pupi Avati, Lodo Guenzi will also show his versatile talent in the theater in the Shakespearean classic Much Ado About Nothing directed by Veronica Cruciani.
Expected at Saturnia Film Festival is Cinzia TH Torrini , fresh from the recent success of Sei nell’anima , a Netflix biopic dedicated to the debut of Gianna Nannini, who will receive the Donne nel Cinema Award assigned every year by the festival to a prominent female personality in Italian cinema.
Matteo Branciamore will instead be celebrated with the Award for Best Artistic Contribution , for his latest surprising performance in Enea by Pietro Castellitto.
Among the guests of this edition is also Darko Peric , a Serbian-born Spanish actor known above all for having played Helsinki in the cult series La Casa di Carta . A great enthusiast of Italian cinema, Peric will talk about his career and his relationship with our country.
Also scheduled are the events of the new Saturnia Pitch section , two days in which directors and screenwriters will be able to present their subjects to an audience of professionals with moments of collective training, masterclasses on film development, production and distribution held by professionals in the sector. Among the guests of the Pitch: Luigi Chimienti (dispàrte), Mirella Cheeseman (Wildside), Giulia Rosa D’Amico (Mompracen), Paolo Bogna (Kavac Film), Serena Lonigro (Gaumont), Luca Marino (Indaco Film). The masterclass will be held by Alessandro Amato (dispàrte), Marco Compiani (Vivo Film), Angelica Cantisani (Torino Film Lab), Manuela Rima (Rai Cinema Channel).
The Saturnia Film Festival 2024 pays homage to Marcello Mastroianni on the centenary of his birth with the poster work created by the artist David Pompili. To celebrate this great icon of our cinema, the films in the competition will be preceded by the screening of some trailers of the great actor’s most important films.
The festival program is completed by the Art Short School section , directed by David Pompili, with videos by students of the Sorano and Narni Linguistic High Schools that will remain visible at the Polo Culturale Le Clarisse in Grosseto for all the days of the festival as well as at the Polo Culturale Pietro Aldi in Saturnia.
