David Pompili
.
Man and his way of relating to others and the community have always been a focal point of his work for the artist David Pompili.
The figures and icons of our everyday life are hyper-contemporary and shout and protest with their authentic simplicity and recognizability: their strength is incontestable and not negligible.
His representations command attention and seem to simultaneously attract and repel us in a see-sawing game of mirrors and deformations. Thus the aesthetic structure of the works has the effect of an evocation, the meaning of which exceeds the sum of the individual narratives it includes, opening up completely to a poetics of the human without consolatory traps.
