The Saturnia Film starts from Florence from 28 to 31 July. Open to feature films, videos and art

The fifth edition of the Saturnia Film Festival, the event organized by Aradia Productions which takes place in the heart of the Grosseto area from 28 to 31 July, celebrates four symbolic places of the Tuscan Maremma. From Piazza Magenta in Manciano to Fortezza Orsini in Sorano, from Piazza Castello in Montemerano to Terme di Saturnia Final Destination, the review chaired by Antonella Santarelli with the artistic direction of director Alessandro Grande brings great cinema to the most fascinating and less known villages of ours territory.

There is time until April 30 to participate in the international short film competition – info and notice on www.saturniafilmfestival.it – ​​divided into three categories: fiction, animation and documentary. Among the candidates, nine works will be selected by a jury of professionals in the sector, formed by the director of distribution of Medusa Film Paolo Orlando, Mario Mazzetti (Vivilcinema), Manuela Rima (Rai Cinema) and Mirella Cheeseman (Wildside).

The short films in competition will also be visible on the Mymovies streaming platform of the La Compagnia di Firenze cinema, in collaboration with the Fondazione Sistema Toscana. Alongside the traditional prizes (film, direction, screenplay, actor, actress) conferred by the jury, the public recognition and the special Women in Cinema award, reserved for works directed by female directors and assigned by the Mujeres nel Cinema group, are also confirmed this year. . There are many new features alongside the main competition: from the feature film section to the video art section, curated by the artist Alessandra Mas and the photographer Marco Tassini; from the ARTIVISM Biennale, spread between the festival venues and the Venetian San Vidal gallery, to the VR (augmented reality) experience in the former Church of Santa Cristina in Rocchette di Fazio, in Semproniano.

The partnership with the Accademia Cinema Toscana also continues, the training institute for audiovisual professionals who will be present to assign the homonymous prize to the film – long or short – identified by the student jury and to participate in workshops and masterclasses with the guests. of the initiative.
