A little girl who, scanning the beach with a metal detector, finds an object that will change her life; two brothers pushed across mysterious seas and lands; a gruff Scotsman who just seems to be able to attract lightning. These will be the main stories of the second day at Saturnia Film Festivala traveling event dedicated to short films that for the fifth year brings screenings, guests and masterclasses to the heart of the Tuscan Maremma.

Tomorrow, Friday 29 July, in the spaces of the Orsini Fortress in Sorano the review organized by Aradia Productions with the contribution of MIC Cinema e Audiovisivo, Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Foundation, Municipality of Manciano, Municipality of Sorano and Municipality of Semproniano, continues with guests and screenings, between animation and comedy, with a special dedicated focus to video art. Let’s go at 18.00 inside the Mastio: a meeting with the authors of the competing shorts is scheduled in the new “Art Short” section curated by Mas Tassini Studio with 5 works signed by the great names of the contemporary art scene. On the occasion it will also be possible to participate in a guided tour of the Biennale Artivism: collective exhibition with more than 40 artists on the themes of ecology and climate change, curated by Shim Eco Art Network and Hohenthal Und Bergen, which thanks to the Saturnia Film Festival for this year he finds a home in the Grosseto area. A noteworthy presence is that of the Danish photographer Winnie Denker; among the confirmed participations also Philippe Forte-Rytter, Sébastien Layral, Peter Hopkins, Alexandra Mas, Nicolas Hamm, Jill Krutick and Vox Populi. At the end of the festival, Artivism will move to the spaces of the Venetian gallery San Vidal, ending in September with an event by the Saturnia Film Festival as part of the International Film Festival.

At 19.00 on the terrace aperitif and tasting of local products with performances by Mas Tassini Studio. At 21.00 in the gardens off to the projections, presented by Matteo Nicoletta, with “Migrants“, 3d animation signed by Zoé Devise, Lucas Lermytte, Hugo Caby, Aubin Kubiak and Antoine Dupriez photographing the plight of polar bears due to climate change, “Big” by Daniele Pini, awarded at the Rome Film Fest, e “Free Fall” by Emmanuel Tenenbaum, an award-winning reinterpretation of the World Trade Center attack in Canada and the United States. For the feature films section “Small body” by Laura Samani. Italy, 1900. The young Agata loses her daughter at her birth. According to Catholic tradition, the child’s soul is doomed to Limbo. Agata hears of a place in the mountains, where newborns are brought back to life with a single breath, to be baptized and to save their souls. Conclusion with debate with Chiara Dainese and Paolo Bogna, respectively the film’s editor and producer. During the evening it will also be held the award ceremony of the “Art Short” section.
