The Saturnia Film Festival – a traveling festival organized by the Municipality of Manciano, in the heart of the Maremma – arrives at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.

On Tuesday, September 2nd, at 6:00 PM, the Villa degli Autori will present the first previews of the 2026 edition, along with a tribute to Tonino Guerra, on the centenary of his birth. A series of events dedicated to him will also be held, retracing his extraordinary work alongside the great masters of Italian cinema.

The ninth edition, scheduled for July 30th to August 3rd, 2026, will be presented by President Antonella Santarelli and Artistic Director and Director Alessandro Grande. They will discuss the festival’s history within the Italian film scene and its future prospects, along with Paolo Orlando (Medusa Film), Teresa Pasquini (Rai Cinema), Claudia Catalli (journalist), and Mario Mazzetti (ANEC-FICE).

The event will also be the occasion to present the FEDIC (Italian Federation of Film Clubs) Awards. These awards celebrate the creative autonomy and expressive freedom of feature films and short films, principles that the Saturnia Film Festival fully shares and supports, also thanks to valuable collaborations with other festivals, such as the Matera Film Festival, the Clorofilla Film Festival, and the London Rolling Film Festival. Thanks to these collaborations, the SFF’s winning films will be included in their programs, and similarly, the award-winning works from partner festivals will be included in the Saturnia program, in a spirit of shared exchange and promotion.
