The full program for the ninth edition of the Saturnia Film Festival<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0has been announced\u00a0\u00a0, the event dedicated to emerging cinema promoted by\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Aradia Productions,<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0chaired by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Antonella Santarelli<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0, and artistically directed by director Alessandro Grande. The festival will take place from Thursday, July 30th to Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, with a special pre-opening on July 24th, confirming its itinerant vocation throughout the Tuscan Maremma, including San Martino sul Fiora, Saturnia, Montemerano, and the Terme di Saturnia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The program combines screenings, meetings, and special events, spanning the Feature Film Competition and the Short Film Competition. Among the guests is\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Carolina Cavalli<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, who will meet the public in Montemerano on Saturday, August 1st, after the screening of her new film, The Kidnapping of Arabella, starring\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Benedetta Porcaroli<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0and already entered into the official competition. Alongside her,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Monica Guerritore<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0will be the star of the evening on July 31st, presenting Anna, a portrait dedicated to\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Anna Magnani.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Completing the feature film selection are Francesco Sossai’s Le citt\u00e0 di pianura.<\/span><\/p>\n

The jury for the Short Film Competition was also announced, chaired by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Paolo Orlando<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0(\u00a0<\/span>Medusa Film<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0) and composed of\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Francesco Gheghi, Valentina Lodovini, Manuela Rima<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0, and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Corrado Azzollini.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0They will be responsible for awarding prizes to an international selection that includes, among others,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Choice<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Marko Crnogoroski<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Normal<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Lara Panah-Izadi<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0, and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Rhubarb Rhubarb<\/span><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Kate McMullen<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, alongside Italian titles such as\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Arborea<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Letizia Zatti<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Arca<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Lorenzo Quagliozzi<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0, and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Tempi aggiuntive<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Matteo Mem\u00e8.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Among the animation selections are\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Mud<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Caterina Salvadori<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Mariasole Brusa<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Retirement Plan<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>John Kelly<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, winner of the 2026 Oscars, and\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Rukeli<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Alessandro Rak.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Women’s Views section, created in collaboration with Mujeres nel Cinema and the Olympia de Gouges Association, features three short films by female directors focusing on women’s issues\u00a0<\/span>: Gente per bene<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Irene Girotti,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>La parola amore non esisteva<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Eva Dematt\u00e9<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0, and\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Punti nascondenti\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Beatrice Baldacci.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The festival is organized by\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Aradia Productions<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0with the support of public institutions and private partners, including MIC Cinema e Audiovisivo, the Municipality of Manciano, the Fondazione CR Firenze, and Medusa Film as main sponsors.<\/span><\/p>\n
