The special event of the Saturnia Film Festival<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 a travelling festival of the Municipality of Manciano, in the heart of Maremma \u2013 took place in Venice, as part of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. The\u00a0event was dedicated to the presentation of the first previews of the 2026 edition and to a tribute<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>Tonino Guerra<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, September 2nd, at 6:00 pm, at the\u00a0<\/span>Villa degli Autori<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0on the Venice Lido, the new features of the ninth edition\u2014scheduled for July 30th to August 2nd, 2026\u2014were presented, and a series of events dedicated to Tonino Guerra was announced, retracing his extraordinary work alongside the great masters of Italian cinema.<\/span><\/p>\n

President\u00a0<\/span>Antonella Santarelli<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and artistic director and director\u00a0<\/span>Alessandro Grande<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, along with\u00a0<\/span>Paolo Orlando<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0(Medusa Film),\u00a0<\/span>Teresa Pasquini<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0(Rai Cinema), and\u00a0<\/span>Mario Mazzetti<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0(ANEC-FICE), presented the festival’s path and outlined its future prospects. The meeting was moderated by journalist\u00a0<\/span>Claudia Catalli<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n

The FEDIC (Italian Federation of Film Clubs) Awards<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0were also presented during the evening\u00a0. These historic awards celebrate the creative autonomy and expressive freedom of feature and short films, values \u200b\u200bthat the Saturnia Film Festival shares and supports. The meeting also provided an opportunity to confirm collaborations with the\u00a0<\/span>Matera Film Festival<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, the\u00a0<\/span>Clorofilla Film Festival<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, and the\u00a0<\/span>London Rolling Film Festival<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0, with a view to mutually exchanging and promoting the award-winning works.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, it was announced that the\u00a0<\/span>call for applications for the 2026 edition<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0will open on\u00a0<\/span>October 1, 2025 on the\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>FilmFreeway<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0platform\u00a0.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main sponsor of the\u00a0<\/span>Saturnia Film Festival<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and the initiative in Venice was\u00a0<\/span>Terme di Saturnia Natural Destination<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0, which confirmed its support for the festival and its special activities.<\/span><\/p>\n
